Welcome to the Online Discussion for Thursday, March 24th!
SEE DISCUSSION PROTOCOL BELOW!!!!
You will need to view two videos in preparation for this online discussion (this appears on Tuesday of the syllabus). Each video is about an hour long. As you view it would be a good idea to take some notes to refer to in the discussion. You can use the "See, Think, Notice" protocol for doing this. As you view, consider:
What Do you See? What Do You Think About It? What Does it Mean? (about teaching, about discussion, about students)

Discussion Protocol:
Discussion Window: Wednesday, March 23rd-Sunday, March 27th
Discussion Topic Focus:
Video Notes
Reading
Promoting Discussion in Class
Requirements:
#1. Post a Question for Discussion (TO THIS PAGE!) by 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 24th. Your question should relate to our recent reading (with a specific focus on questioning and discussion) and/or class activities. When you start a thread, write the discussion question in the subject line and indicate what type of question it is, using Wilhelm's questioning schemes in Chapter Five.
#2. Engage in discussion. There is no minimum # of postings, but think about what characterizes an authentic online discussion: relatively informal, short posts, easy to read, posting multiple times, responding to others, etc.
#3. Use varied and specific evidence in your discussion. You should make reference to information from the reading and your internship as you explore the issues that come up in the discussion.
